Current Development Projects Seeking Support Minimize

Poulaye: Gros-Morne, Haiti

In an ongoing effort to help the community become self-sustaining in food production, construction of an egg-production facility has been proposed.  The local community along with Caritas have requested support in starting an operation holding 1500 hens producing an average of 1250 eggs per day.  With this investment in the local economy, Gros-Morne can reduce imports of eggs from the Dominican Republic by 15% as well as provide additional opportunities for local employment.  This production is projected to produce a profit as early as the first year and proceeds will be dedicated to facility improvements as well as local agricultural education and savings to expand production to other rural areas.  Please contact lou.newman47@gmail.com for more details or information on ways to support this effort.
